RHODONITE was first discovered in Russia, and was referred to as the "Eagle's Stone" when it was found used as decoration in Eagle's nests. It later became tradition to place these stones in babies cradles as protection stones as well. Rhodonite was used throughout history as a protection stone - originally given to newlyweds and travelers in Russia & Kazakhstan, it spread to be used with travelers throughout Greece & Rome. They believed the stone made the wearer's heart rate speed up when danger was near to warn them.
