This delicate charm necklace features a genuine Byzantine Christ, King of Kings coin from 1020-1028 A.D. set in a 14k gold setting.
This coin was made anonymously in place of the official coins that depicted the Byzantine emperor. They replace him with the bust of Jesus Christ with a halo around his head. On the back, they are inscribed with " IҺSЧS/XRISTЧS/ЬASILЄЧ/ЬASILЄ" meaning "Jesus Christ, King of Kings" To have one of these coins in your possession was seen as a sign of prestige throughout the rest of the Byzantine empire.
