This delicate charm necklace features a genuine Roman Janus silver denarius coin from 120 B.C. set in a 14k gold bezel setting.
JANUS - The Roman god of beginnings, endings, doorways, and duality; Janus is portrayed as the old/young man look both into the future and the past. As he represents beginnings, Janus is represented by the month of January.
ROMA - The back depicts Roma (patron goddess of Rome) standing, holding a spear and laurel wreath. To her left is a trophy of Gallic arms. ROMA is written to the right.
