JULIAN "THE APOSTATE" - the last emperor to embrace the Roman gods and pagan religion, Julian was by many accounts a strong philosopher. He ruled Western Rome from 355 AD to 361 AD at which point he ruled of all of the Roman Empire until his death in 363 AD.
The VOX X on the back states that Julian had completed the prayers and sacrifices necessary for 10 years of rule. These commemorative coins were printed and circulated 2 years early as propaganda "promising" the people that Julian would live to see the end of the war with Persians, which did not occur.
