Licinius - Otherwise known as Flavius Galerius Valerius Licinianus Licinius (rolls right off the tongue), he accompanied Emperor Galerius on a Persian Expedition in 297. He was later given command over what was formerly the Western Half of the Roman Empire.
The back depicts the Roman god Jupiter (Roman parallel of the Greek Zeus) holding victory in his right hand and a hasta (long spear) in his left. An eagle sits at his feet, as the eagle was said to administer Jupiter's lightening as the King of Birds.
