This delicate charm necklace features a genuine Roman Augusta Faustina I coin from about 141 A.D. set with a 14k gold pronged setting.

Augusta/Diva Faustina: wife of Antonius Pius, she was awarded the title of Augusta (empress) when Pius became Emperor of Rome. She was very prominent in her assistance to charities supporting the poor and in the education of female children. Her style was unique, and her favored distinctive hairstyle was worn throughout the Roman Empire for generations after her death. Pius was so distraught after her passing that he had her deified with the title of Diva (or divine being).

Aeternitas: She is the divine personification of eternity. It was common during this period for rulers to deify outstanding characteristics (for example, Clementia for a forgiving/kind ruler). Aeternitas was fairly commonly used on Diva Faustina coins as a symbol of eternity after her death.
