PONTIUS PILATE: He was appointed governor of Judea from 26-36 A.D.; and is best known for presiding over the trial of Christ as well as the crucifixion of Christ. Pilate commissioned only a few types of coins minted in a circulated in Jerusalem (which is why these coins are attributed to Pilate instead of the Roman Emperor at the time, Tiberius).

** NOTE: This coin will come with a certificate of authenticity with explanation of what is on the coin.
