This delicate charm necklace features a genuine Silver Denarius Roman Maximinus II coin from 312-313 A.D. set in a 14k gold filled bezel setting (reversible).

MAXIMINUS II - while originally a peasant, his accomplishments in the army led him to be adopted by his maternal uncle (and previous caesar, Galerius). He was then given the rank of Caesar with the governments of Syria and Aegyptus.

SOL - the Roman god of the sun (contemporary to Greek's Helios), who according to mythology, would carry the sun across the sky everyday in his quadriga (four-horse chariot).
